From our house you can walk to much of what
makes Santa Cruz a fabulous vacation destination – the famous Beach Boardwalk
with its historic wooden roller coaster, the Santa Cruz municipal wharf – the longest
pier on the West Coast with sea lions, restaurants, fishing and
kayak rentals and gift shops, the Santa Cruz yacht harbor,
as well as downtown.
Short drives take you Henry Cowell Redwoods State Park, Wilder
Ranch State Park – a former working dairy farm eternally set
to 1912, among twelve other state parks.
The house is located in
the quiet Seabright neighborhood within 100 steps from the beach.
The beach is about ½ mile long, wedged between the yacht harbor
and separated from the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk by the San Lorenzo
river. Because of this separation from the beaches north and
south it is one of the least crowded, yet warmest and windless because
of its south facing orientation.
The house is 2-stories and, as the video tour of the house confirms,
up-to-date, comfortable and cozy. The living spaces are upstairs
to maximize the views of Monterey Bay. The skylights create a
well-lit and warm environment even when the weather is cool, making
this house a terrific winter vacation home also. The second story
includes the living room, gourmet kitchen, dining area, bar, sun room,
half bath and a large rooftop deck. The first floor features a
vaulted master suite complete with a large private bathroom with a
two-person Jacuzzi spa tub and a glass block walk-in shower. The
bedroom also has a deck with ocean view right outside. A second bedroom
also has a private bath that features high end fixtures including a
enclosed shower with true rain shower head.
